Welcome to Barden Primary School. 

It is wonderful that your child will be starting their first year in school life at Barden Primary School.  We are so excited about them starting in September.

Here are some important dates - 

Tuesday 16th June - 9:00 a.m.  -.New Parents’ Meeting with the Headteacher New Parents’ Meeting for Reception Children at Barden Primary School (approximately one hour long). It is very important that you attend this meeting.   In this meeting you will get to come into school, meet some of the staff and learn important information about what your children will be learning when they start school

Thursday 25th June 3:40 – 4:10 pm - Stay and Play Session Parents and your child are invited to come along to visit the reception classes to explore their new classroom.  Parents have the opportunity to come along, meet the EYFS teaching staff and see the provision.   Parents must attend for the whole session.  If your child has additional needs you and your child will be invited to a separate session to ensure that they will not be overwhelmed.

Wednesday 8th July - Transition visit Children Visits reception classes for one hour.  This is an opportunity for your child to visit their new Reception class for an hour. If your child attends Reedley Hallows Nursery in the afternoon, they will be brought to Barden by the Nursery teachers.  If your child has additional needs you and your child will be invited to a separate session to ensure that they will not be overwhelmed.

Weeks commencing 22nd June, 29th June, 6th July - Home Visits

Home visits to you by your child’s class teacher – you will receive a date and a time for this visit from Mrs Worthy (EYFS Lead)  This is an opportunity for your child to meet their new teacher and for you to chat to them about any worries/concerns you may have.

Wednesday 2nd September - School starts - Morning or afternoon session You will receive an individual start time for your child for the first two days (Wednesday and Thursday) and then on Friday your child will attend full time.
