Welcome to Swallows 2!

Spring Term 2 2026

Our geography-led topic this half-term is 'From Blackpool to Melbourne.'  We will be finding out about the physical and human geographical features of both Blackpool and Melbourne.  We will look at the differences and similarities between the two places.     In art, we will be looking at Digital Art and Aboriginal Art.  We will be finding out about an Australian aboriginal artist called 
Clifford Possum Tjapaltjarriwe. 

In English, we are looking at persuasive writing.  We will be writing a persuasive advert about going to the moon.   We will then move on to writing a non-chronological report about Blackpool beach using new words, present tense verbs and joining words. 

 In Maths, we will continue to develop our multiplication and division skills, then move on to measurement. 

Our Class Novel is 'The Twits' by Roald Dahl.

P.E. Tuesday morning  and Wednesday afternoon.

Please make sure that your child has the correct kit in school.

How you can help... listen to your child read every day, talk about the text and any new words you find! Log in to Oxford Owl and help your child find their ebook. If your child is in the guided reading group, they should change their book at least once per week. Please sign their reading record book. For maths, practise counting forwards and backwards in steps of 2, 5, 10 from zero.
