Week 4 and Week 5
We have been learning a new story rhyme.
Polar Bear, Polar Bear
What can you hear?
Clapping our names in syllables.
(A syllable is a part of a word that contains sounds (phonemes) of a word. It usually has a vowel in it. A syllable is also called a 'beat' and teachers often teach children to identify syllables by clapping the 'beats' in words.)
Have a go clapping the names of the people in your house. How many syllables do you clap for each name?
Week 1 and Week 2
