Welcome to Robins 1.

Welcome back to school! We hope you all had a lovely half-term holiday! We are looking forward to our second half of the autumn term.   This half-term  Our Topic is Remember, Remember. Our focus topics are History and DT. In History, we will be looking at a significant person in history - Guy Fawkes! .  In DT, we will be exploring levers and pivots, looking at how they work and how we can make our own version related to our topic.

In English, we are using a narrative to help us with our learning.  The story we are using is Supertato.  The children will explore and innovate the narrative to create their own version of the story.  

In year 1, all of our children access Read Write Inc. meaning children will have the opportunity to read and develop their spelling on a daily basis.  In the classroom, we have a wide range of literature that the children can access in the reading corner.  The books we provide are diverse and set an appropriate level for our year 1 children to enjoy. 

PE

PE days are Monday and Wednesday every week.  The children need to make sure they have their PE Kit in school every day. For this half-term, the children will be developing the fundamental movement skill of overarm throwing. 

Wellies
Please ensure your child has a pair of wellies in school.
