At Barden, our curriculum has been designed so that it is ambitious and meets the needs of all our pupils. Our teachers have worked hard to design a curriculum that is progressive and builds upon pupils' prior learning.
Alongside this, we have worked incredibly hard with all our subject leaders to make sure that each subject offers full coverage of the national curriculum requirements.
As a result of this, we believe we have a broad, balanced and rich curriculum that meets the needs of our pupils and the community we serve.
Have a look at the examples below to see how we have structured the History and Geography curriculum as an example of this...
The links below take you to the Progression Maps for each curriculum area.
These Progression Maps capture the key knowledge, skills and understanding that children will learn throughout school in specific areas of learning for each subject. Children learn much more than what is listed, but this key knowledge enables them to build on previous learning and to apply this knowledge to new topics and areas of learning.
