THE SUMMER READING CHALLENGE

The Summer Reading Challenge, presented by The Reading Agency, is delivered in partnership with public libraries and funded by Arts Council England.

The Challenge encourages children ages 4 to 11 to enjoy the benefits of reading for pleasure over the summer holidays, providing lots of fun and enjoyment as well as helping to prevent the summer reading "dip".

Click on the link below to find out more about this years challenge which you would normally sign up for at your local library.

Your task was to create the most "imaginative" EASTER BOOKMARK using things from around your home.

We had a some great creations and all of our entries were awarded with some Easter treats.

Well done to all those children who took the time to get involved.

This area of our school website has been inspired by this great book I am currently reading. Let's hope we can fill this page with a variety of VE creations!

Do you know what VE stands for?

Guess who's been caught reading?
This school year we will be continuing to promote a "Love of Reading" by sharing lots of great picture books during our library sessions. Are you familiar with the books we have already read linked with reading celebrations so far this school year...

Barden Primary School is part of a cluster of schools working together to promote a love of reading between, children, staff, family and the local community.

Our latest We Are Reading assignment was to link up with another local school and gift each other 10 books.

We hope you enjoy watching the short video of this latest initiative.

INTERNATIONAL DOT DAY

On Friday 13th September children and staff came to school wearing clothes with dots and spots.

Every class was introduced to the book-The Dot, by Peter H. Reynolds. During the week children and staff were involved in a variety of activities with a dotty theme.

We hope you enjoying watching this short video of our Dotty celebration.
