Welcome to Owlets R
Spring is nearly here! Time for more adventures!
Our topic this half term is
Amazing Adventures!
This half term we will be finding out about amazing animals. We will be finding out what a pet is and what types of animals make good pet. We will investigate farm animals and the Big 5 from Africa! We will be having a visit from real life animals.
Our focus books we will be sharing together will be -

We will continue to explore the woodland area and talking about Spring. We will sing nursery rhymes and learn simple poems. We will paint, make music and use our imagination to make up stories and dances. We will be focusing on the school values of Respect and Acceptance, encouraging children to share, take turns, saying please and thank you and looking after our resources.

Every morning we have fun with Fred Frog practising and learning new sounds and words in the Read Write Inc sessions. Children will continue to be taught to say and recognise initial letter sounds of words and Special Friends sounds - two letters that make one sound. We will be beginning to read short sentences.
Following this we have communication time, when children will listen to a story and answer questions about it. We have Magic Maths, learning new mathematical knowledge in a fun way followed by book time, writing and on a Friday Drawing CLub. In the afternoon we have story time, rhyme time and Vocab Ninja! Each afternoon has a different focus - Re, Music, Woodland Adventures, P.E. Circle Time, Dance, Our Wonderful World, Healthy Heroes, Create and Imagine and lots more! Finishing off the day with Key Person time, where children have a chance to chat and talk about their learning, have a healthy snack and to review the day's learning. We learn in our inside and outside classroom in all weathers!
We have supervised toothbrushing every day and learn about keeping healthy. If you would like further information regarding this click at the bottom of the page for the parent pdf.

PE Day - Every Thursday - We are focusing on functional motor skills in our PE lessons. Running, jumping, hopping, throwing and catching. We will be climbing the large climbing frame this half term. We talk about the changes that happen to our bodies when we do exercise.
Outside Adventures - Every Friday - We like to investigate the environment around us including the woodland area on campus and our local environment.
