Welcome to Owlets R!
Time for new adventures in Owlets class!
Time for our Summer 1 theme .-
If you go down to the woods today......
This half term we will be focusing on traditional tales including Goldilocks and the Three Bears, Little Red Riding Hood and Jack and the Beanstalk. We will be using our imaginations to tell stories and change stories to our own versions. We will be looking at different characters and taking on their roles, going on adventures in the Woodland area to find the characters and creating character homes.
We will continue to explore the woodland area and investigating changes. We will look for mini-beasts and types of trees. We will follow and make maps. We will plant and grow different seeds. We will sing nursery rhymes and learn simple poems. We will paint, make models, create music and use our imagination.
Every morning we have fun with Fred Frog practising and learning new sounds and words in the Read Write Inc sessions. We will be continuing to learn letter sounds, including 'special friends' sounds. You can read books online with your child on Oxford Owl. We will be practising the sounds and words in games and other fun activities.
Following this we have communication time,, when we listen to a story and answer questions about it. We have Magic Maths, learning new mathematical knowledge in a fun way followed by book time and writing. In the afternoon we have story time, rhyme time and Vocab Ninja! Each afternoon has a different focus - Re, Music, Woodland Adventures, P.E. Circle Time, Dance, Drawing Club, Our Wonderful World, Healthy Heroes, Create and Imagine and lots more! Finishing off the day with Key Person time, where children have a chance to chat, have a healthy snack and to review the day's learning. We learn in our inside and outside classroom in all weathers!
PE Day - Every Thursday - We are focusing on functional motor skills in our PE lessons. Running, jumping, hopping, throwing and catching. We talk about the changes that happen to our bodies when we do exercise.
Outside Adventures - Every Friday - We like to investigate the environment around us including the woodland area on campus and our local environment.
