Welcome back!! We hope you had a wonderful half term break. We can't wait to hear all about it! This year will be full of excitement, new experiences and new challenges. We have some fantastic topics this half term, that we have no doubt you will love.

In Reading, our class novel is The Last Wild by Piers Torday.  The Last Wild follows twelve-year-old Kester Jaynes, who embarks on a journey to save the last remaining animals in a world devastated by a plague that has wiped out wildlife. We will use our reading skills to delve deeper into the story. 

In English, we will be focussing on the novel Robot Girl by Malorie Blackman. This book is full of twists and turns. We will be innovating our own version of the story and writing a newspaper report on a significant event that occurs.

In History, we will be looking at the history of The Pendle Witches. We will be learning all about whether what happened to the witches was fair and why Thomas Potts wrote ‘The Wonderful Discovery of Witches’.

In Science, we will be investigating Earth and Space. We will be looking closely at the planets in our solar system and exploring the movement of the Earth, Moon and Sun.

For this half term and the beginning of next half term, we will be taking part in forest school on a Wednesday afternoon. The children will be split into two groups, with each group taking part in forest school for 5 weeks. Your child will be notified when their block of forest school sessions are. Please ensure your child has a pair of wellies available in school and attends school in appropriate clothing on their days.
