At the start of the afternoon of 17th SEPTEMBER 2020, I was contacted by a parent of a child in Skylarks (3) to inform me that their child has tested positive for Covid-19. The child was not in school on this day. The parents of all the other students in the child’s class (Skylarks class), have been contacted and all children and staff in this class have been sent home this afternoon and told to self-isolate for 14 days. The rooms where the class have been taught are to be deep cleaned immediately. No other student bubbles in any other year group have been affected.

Learning Challenge Curriculum Overview - Autumn Term 1

Your child will continue to bring home spellings on a Tuesday these will be tested on the following Tuesday.

Homework for English and Maths will be handed out on Friday and should be handed in the following Wednesday.

The sheet in the front of the book outlines which pages should be completed each week.

We will be using a range of resources from CGP, these will be available through school at a discounted price.

All homework will be reinforcing skills learnt in school, please support your child with this as much as needed.

Please note that P.E. has changed to last lesson on Thursday afternoon.

Can we please have the correct kit in school to enable your child to participate confidently.

The children must have indoor pumps as well as outdoor trainers for PE. They may also bring a track suit for outdoor PE.

In Year 6, we like to promote a love of reading. Throughout the year, we will be encouraging your child to read with independence; leading to a real love of reading for pleasure. Please listen to your child read a little every day and sign in their reading record once a week. Your child can win prizes for the most reading at home. Your child will be reading from a reading scheme or free reading books, the library, during guided reading sessions and hopefully they will join book club! Library sessions are on Wednesday morning, please can we have books ready to hand back on this day. Your child can independently change their scheme book once they have finished and discussed it with us. Children can also borrow books from our classroom reading area if they want to!
