Our Class Timetable

What a great start to the new school year we have had so far!

The children have settled into their new class brilliantly and we are all getting used to our new routine. 

Please try to spend a little time each day talking and asking your children what they have been learning about.

Our class timetable is further down the page which gives you an idea of what each day looks like.

Reading

In Year 1 we will be continuing to promote a love of reading!

We will be sharing lots of books and stories throughout our curriculum. Children will also engage in guided reading sessions each week, this is when we will teach them how to read. You can support us in school by reading at home with your child as much as possible and remembering to sign their reading record. We will aim to change the children’s home reading books once a week on their reading day and they will bring home 2 reading books.

When children read at home they will receive a sticker on our class reading chart and when they have reached 20 stickers they will receive a small reward.

PE

Our PE days are Monday and Wednesday.

Homework

Homework will be uploaded onto our class page on a Friday and should be completed before the following Friday. 

Library

Our Library will be Friday-but not at the moment. We are very lucky to have such a wonderful library at Barden Primary. Please take the time to enjoy your child’s library book with them and make sure they have it with them on a Friday.
