Weekly Homework

The children are doing well with their reading in Year 6, they have shown a real love for reading. It is very important the children read to an adult at home and alone, it is one of the most important skills that your child will learn. As they read they develop their imagination and vocabulary.

We would like the children to continue to read each night and sign their diary with the pages they have completed. We would appreciate if a parent could listen to the children read once a week and sign the diary. This helps the children to become confident, fluent readers.

The children will be sent home spellings each week. Practising these words daily will help the children know them, remember them and apply them. Playing games, verbally putting them in a sentence or using them in a written sentence are all useful strategies to use.

This week's spelling are on the weekly homework sheet.
